Building Brentsville's Business
As your Supervisor, I will continue to support business friendly policies that support small business and attract employers with high-paying jobs. I am truly proud of the business investments that have poured into the Brentsville District. Since my time in office, 40 new businesses and over 2 billion dollars have been invested. I approved funding for three small business specialists in our Development Services Department, making it easier for small businesses to get up and running quicker I also blocked a massive tax hike on our business community last year and will continue to push for a higher threshold of the BPOL tax to ease start-up costs for small business owners.
Innovation Park is the home of Life Sciences in Northern Virginia. Our public private partnership, the Prince William Science Accelerator, is now fully occupied. We work closely with the GMU Science and Technology Campus on a variety of life science activities including biomedical research. As a member of the campus advisory board, I strongly support the planned expansion of this campus so that we can advance our partnership to attract more science and tech jobs.
I’m also passionate about creative economic investments that preserve our County’s history. I’m proud that Brentsville is home to two historic barns that have been transformed into economic development success stories: 2 Silos Brewing Company and Sweeney Barn.
